The master plan for the Ta Xua tourist area and surrounding regions is an eco-tourism and resort area that focuses on exploring and experiencing the natural landscapes and cultures of the Mong ethnic communities with a diverse and unique tourism product system.

The People’s Committee of Son La province has recently approved the Decision No. 688/QD-UBND to approve the general planning task of the Ta Xua tourist area and its surrounding regions in Bac Yen district, Son La province.

Accordingly, the total planned area of the Ta Xua tourist area and its surrounding regions in Bac Yen district is about 13,000 hectares, with a population of around 12,000 people. The planning period is 25 years (from 2025 to 2050).

The Ta Xua mountain range creates a spectacular landscape that attracts visitors.

The planning scope covers the entire Ta Xua commune; Hang Dong, Hang Dong C, Chong Tra, and Hang Bla villages in Hang Dong commune; Cao A, Hang Cao, and Trang Dua Hang villages in Lang Cheu commune; Hang Cho, Song Chong, and Xim Vang villages in Xim Vang commune; and Phieng Ban and Tam Hop (Suoi Than, Suoi Un) villages in Phieng Ban commune.

At the same time, there will be updated research and integrated planning for other tourist spots in Pu Nhi village in Phieng Ban commune; Cang Hop and Hong Ngai villages (Hang A Phu) in Hong Ngai commune; and Phinh Ho village in Hang Chu commune.

The goal of the planning is to specifically implement the overall tourism development plan in Son La province by 2020, with a vision to 2030, and the construction planning of inter-district areas along the Da River in Son La province during the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

In addition, the plan aims to attract investment and gradually develop tourism to make Ta Xua a provincial-level tourist area by 2030, as well as a central hub connecting other tourist areas in provinces such as Son La, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Lai Chau, and Dien Bien.

It will also serve as a basis for land management, construction order, and attracting investment projects, contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.

The general planning task of the Ta Xua tourist area and its surrounding regions is an eco-tourism and resort area that focuses on exploring and experiencing the natural landscapes and cultures of the Mong ethnic communities with a diverse and unique tourism product system. It includes eco-tourism activities related to nature conservation and biodiversity protection, community-based tourism that preserves and promotes the original cultural values of ethnic minority communities, and sightseeing and learning about historical and cultural heritage of the ethnic minority communities, as well as recreational and sports activities on land (outdoor activities, cycling, mountain climbing, camping, adventure, exploration, etc.) and in the air (paragliding, helicopter tours, hot air balloons, ziplines).
