Sapa enters top 50 most beautiful towns in the world.

Sa Pa is listed among the top 50 most beautiful towns in the world along with Hallstatt of Austria and Giethoorn of the Netherlands, according to a leading US travel magazine.

The US-based travel magazine CnTraveller has recently published a list of the world’s 50 most beautiful towns, as voted by independent travel experts. Sa Pa is the only representative from Vietnam.

With a population of over 9,400 people, the famous resort town in Lao Cai province is described as “a mountainous locality, bordering China, with mountains, terraced fields, many waterfalls, and hiking trails.

To be included in the top 50, destinations must meet certain criteria such as being small towns or historic villages with friendly locals that make tourists feel excited, having ancient hotels, cobblestone streets, colonial architecture, and beautiful natural landscapes. In addition, these places must have enough experiential activities for tourists, diverse terrain suitable for tourism needs.

Other famous ancient villages in this list include Hallstatt (Austria), Lauterbrunnen (Switzerland), Castle Combe (England), Bled (Slovenia) and Giethoorn (Netherlands). Other towns in Asia include Ban Rak Thai (Thailand), Biei and Gokayama (Japan), Hatta (UAE), Itchan Kala (Uzbekistan), Luang Prabang (Laos), Mandawa (India), Penglipuran (Indonesia), Sai Kung (Hong Kong, China).
